TLDR; I highly recommend this cable. This is the best car USB cable I've ever had! And I've gone through a lot in the past 7 years. It connects securely to the phone and I've not had any of the problems experienced with other USB cables (see below for the story). I drive about 100 miles a day for my job. I NEED Android Auto to work but until now have not found a USB cable that could deliver reliably. I've have had trouble for years getting the Android Auto in my car (2017 Honda Civic) to consistently recognize my phone (Pixel 7 Pro). In short, I spent a lot of time thinking it was the car and found out is was my cables. I'd get a new USB cable and it would work well for about a month or so then starts to have trouble. The Android Auto app on the car would hang for a long time trying to recognize the phone then time-out and say it couldn't connect. Sometimes I'd wiggle the cable just right and it would magically connect. Sometimes the car would loose the connection while driving for no detectable reason. I'd wiggle the USB cable and it would sometimes reconnect, sometimes it would act like it was connecting but fail. I tried everything thinking it was the the car's fault but I, and technicians couldn't find the problem until I got a new cable. However, the same story would repeat itself over and over - works well for a while the starts to have connection issues, buy a new USB cable, repeat. That is, until I this LISEN CarPlay cable. It has been amazing! I've used one cable for more than 3 months (as of now) and have no issues at all. It connects every time I plug in to my phone. It has a satisfying and reassuring click when it connects to the phone. I've not had a single Android Auto failure to connect. It charges fast. I like the fact that the cable is coiled so it can be extended while connecting but recoil when my phone is stored while driving. The cable length is perfect for my generation of Civic and will probably be good for all other compact cars. Despite the "iPhone" and "CarPlay" in the title it is, of course, compatible with my Android phone - and works very well with any phone or device that has a USB-C port. If you need a great, reliable, stable, fast USB-C cable for your car, this is it. If I ever wear out these two I definitely buy this brand again.
I've been using this constantly in my car for android auto, and overall I'm fairly impressed with it. It has continued to work well with regular use. Every now and then I have to unplug it and plug it back in for android auto to recognize it, but that's been an occasional issue not a constant problem. I really like the stretch and feel of the coiled cable, and the construction feels high quality. For something that I use almost every day it's been dependable so far.
UPDATE: Due to my original review the vendor reached out to me and sent me a replacement (updated) set of cables. The updated replacements finally work with Android Auto and Apple Carplay without any issues and are very high quality. Updating my review to four stars. The only reason why I am not giving five stars is because the first set did not work. Just make sure you get the most up to date version of these cables and you'll have no issues. If they send you the old ones you should reach out to the vendor and request the updated ones. ORIGINAL REVIEW: These do not work with Android Auto or Carplay. Tried two different vehicles and two different devices. Stop false advertising. Back to Amazon it goes!
Addendum The company contacted me several times via email and sent me cords that work well- immediate connection to android auto. Really appreciate how hard the company worked to make me happy 😊 I wanted this cord so I could use it to connect to my android auto in my Subaru car. The reviews looked good, so I got it, but even following the steps, I could not connect to android auto. The company was very responsive responding to me each day with ideas but nothing helped. I asked for a video with the instructions how to clear the cache, etc. but they didn’t have a video to offer. They did send me new cords and let me keep the old ones, but the new ones don’t work either.
Great looking cable. Appears to be good quality. Simply does not function as advertised. It does not maintain connection for Android Auto. It will connect only sporadically and never for more than a few seconds at a time. Very disappointed, especially since it is very clearly advertised as an Android Auto cable.
This works great for connecting my phone to my car so I can have a stable connection for using Android Auto.
Got these to use in my Subaru for Android Auto, and they were terrible. Too short, kept getting connection issues. Quality of them feels good, and the extreme flexible cables are nice, but when it comes to usability, they're useless. Update: company reached out, and offered a refund, even a year later from purchase date. So definitely a great company to deal with, just sad their cable didn't work for me.
Original review: Feels high quality and transfered data to and from my pc to android but did NOT work with Android Auto which is what I bought it for. lisen reached out to me and offered me their updated cable since I was initially disappointed. This new set of cables looked like the same high quality feeling cable but this one instantly worked for Android Auto. Appears to have high transfer speeds to/from pc as well.
